Start the Study of Mind Maps with this Book
By 60+ and still having fun
This most recent book by Buzan and Griffiths is also the best written and concise presentation of mind mapping ever made by these authors. The book is very focused, very clear, and gets down to the big issues. This is the "mature" book wherein the authors know that their techniques have been adopted world-wide and thus they do not need to "sell" the concepts. The tone of the book is what you would expect from two individuals with long careers working on mind maps and training others: it hits the big points without burying the reader in far too much detail. The authors know the method works and that it has been very well-received and focus on why you should mind map, how to do it, what you can expect to achieve, when mapping is most effective, and who can benefit. This is the most focused and clear of Buzan's books (and I have read almost all of them in the past two years). It should be noted that others will criticize Buzan and Griffiths for claiming Buzan "invented" mind mapping and that his "laws" of mind mapping are but one set of guidelines. Whether you ultimately decide for yourself (hopefully based on your field, training, and goals) that this is THE only real method mind mapping is not really relevant. What is relevant is that this is the best book to date on Buzan-style organic mind mapping (the dominant theory in the area) and it provides the perfect entry (and for many destination) point to learning about mind mapping. If you want to use mind maps and use them to their full potential, this is where you should start. Over priced advertisment

If you are interested in Mind mapping buy his earlier "Radiant Thinking". "Modern Mind Mapping" is an over priced advertisment for software. They should be giving this away not charging you to read it.

Excellent Concept

I read this book over a weekend. I thought it was logically presented and 90% of the material was first rate. After reading the book I purchased mind mapping software and have been extremely pleased with the results.
